Finding Help Made Easy

We make it easy for organizations to connect people to social care services and follow up more quickly. We offer a free suite of tools for organizations to streamline care management and increase impact. 1-800-CHILDREN lists thousands of organizations throughout the state serving their local communities. We partner with the national platform Findhelp to verify each listing, and organizations can update their information independently, ensuring our listings are accurate.

1-800-CHILDREN allows anyone at your organization to manage program listings, close referral loops, add team members, analyze program demand, set up eligibility screeners, schedule appointments, and more — all in one place and for free.

First Steps

1. Create Your Account

Create a free account at findhelp.1800childrenks.org by selecting “Sign Up” at the top right and entering your name, work email and password.

2. Add Your Organization

Organizations! Make sure your programs are listed in the 1-800-CHILDREN social care network so help seekers can easily connect to your services.

  • Go to findhelp.1800childrenks.org/suggest-program.
  • Search and verify your program isn’t already listed.
  • If your program isn’t already listed, you will be prompted to “Suggest a Program” for 1-800-CHILDREN to review and add.
  • You should hear from 1-800-CHILDREN within two business days. 

3. Claim Your Program

Streamline Social Care. Organizations can claim their program listing on 1-800-CHILDREN to keep their listing and profile up-to-date, along with receiving and giving referrals.

  • Go to findhelp.1800childrenks.org/claims.
  • Enter the name of your program or organization, then click “Search.”
  • Select the program(s) you’d like to claim and click the “Claim” button.
  • Create an account by entering your name, work email and password.
  • You should hear from 1-800-CHILDREN within two business days.

Whether you work directly or indirectly with people, you know that everyone is in need of supportive resources from time to time. We encourage everyone to use the content provided below to promote 1-800-CHILDREN among community members, caregivers, providers, and other child and family serving professionals. 

  • Encourage families you serve to call a 1-800-CHILDREN resource specialist (1-800-244-5373) to talk to trained professionals who will connect them with supportive programs.
  • Request free 1-800-CHILDREN promotional and print materials from KCSL’s Community Resource Library here.
  • Download Parent Tip Sheets in English and Spanish.
  • Link 1-800-CHILDREN to your website for parents and professionals to use or embed a 1-800-CHILDREN search box on your website by copying and pasting the following code:

Program Listings / Professionals FAQ

Is it free to add my program?

Yes, listing your program is free and helps connect families and professionals with your services.

My program is already listed; how do I claim it?

To claim your program listing, follow the claim instructions on our website linked here: https://findhelp.1800childrenks.org/claims or contact us for assistance. Claiming your program allows you to keep information accurate and up to date.

Can multiple staff members claim a program in the case that someone leaves the agency?

Yes, more than one staff member can be associated with a program listing to ensure continuity when roles change or someone leaves the organization.

How do I add my program?

You can add your program through the “Suggest a Program” feature linked here: https://findhelp.1800childrenks.org/suggest-program and completing the online form. The Findhelp team will review and publish the listing after verification. You can also contact us at 1800children@kcsl.org for assistance in adding your program. 

Can I edit my program myself?

Yes. Once you’ve claimed your program, you will have the ability to make updates and edits to your listing as needed.

How can I share information about 1-800-CHILDREN?

We encourage you to share our resources! You can request promotional materials, download Parent Tip Sheets, or connect with us for presentations or outreach events.
